Dustin joins the Circular Electronics Partnership

Dustin, a leading online IT partner in the Nordics and Benelux, has now joined the global Circular Electronics Partnership (CEP). The goal of the membership is for Dustin, together with other member organisations, to work towards the goal of a circular electronics industry by 2030.

CEP has assembled a group of ground-breaking global organisations and more than 50 leading companies in technology, consumer goods and waste management. Together, with the support of the World Economic Forum and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, among others, they will work to identify various solutions to make the industry circular.

“This is a natural step towards our sustainability target of becoming entirely circular by 2030. We need to cooperate across borders to reach this ambitious target,” says Sandra Klackenborn, Head of Sustainability at Dustin.

CEP has a roadmap and a vision for how the entire electronics industry can drive the transition towards a circular industry. It has identified six pathways to circularity and consists of 40 interventions that need to be implemented within the next ten years to enable the industry to become circular. There is significant focus on increasing product lifetime, for example through circular design.

“The roadmap that CEP has developed is entirely in line with our own interests. The partnership strives to maximise the value of products, components and materials throughout their entire lifecycle. We look forward to participating in and supporting this initiative as well as to receiving assistance in efforts to achieve the shared goals,” says Sandra Klackenborn.

Dustin has already been striving to become more circular. There is significant focus on end-of-life returns. Last year, the company launched its own Takeback department, and there is also an ambition to begin selling refurbished products online.
