Dustin and HP partner in circular IT
Dustin, a leading online based IT partnerin the Nordics and the Benelux, now starts selling refurbished computers in partnership with the technology company HP. Together they are launching “HP Approved Selection.” The goal is to help companies take a step toward a more sustainable product portfolio and thereby contribute to a more circular economy.
“It is important for Dustin to contribute towards the circular transition of the industry, and it is therefore important that we can offer our customers pre-owned IT products. Through the collaboration with HP, we are jointly driving the move towards a more circular IT industry, while concurrently offering high-quality computers from HP at a lower cost,” says Joakim Aspelin, Business Unit Director Large Corporate and Public, Dustin.
The offering to purchase refurbished computers from HP is mainly aimed at large companies and the public sector, but also large companies in the SMB segment. The products are sold via Dustin’s sales teams and have a two-year warranty.
E-waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams today and generates more than 61 million tonnes of waste globally every year. Choosing refurbished electronics products actively reduces e-waste by extending product lifetimes and reducing the need for producing new products. It has a lower impact on the environment and is more cost-effective compared with producing new products.
“Demand is growing for refurbished IT as well as for takeback of IT products, and we want to make it easier for companies and the public sector to be more sustainable by meeting their needs. With HP Approved Selection, we want to increase the number of products that are given longer life and thereby reduce the amount of electronic waste. This is another step in driving the entire industry in a positive direction and a step toward our goal to be 100 per cent circular by 2030,” concludes Joakim Aspelin.
